Sometimes, we just can’t. Can’t force ourselves to write another fully researched blog post. Can’t find the time to plan and shoot content. Can’t come up with a fresh idea for another LinkedIn, Instagram or TikTok post.

What do we do then? Go to the content vault! And if you don’t have one - don’t worry, you probably do have something that you can use to come up with a post really quickly!

Here are 5 quick content ideas, easier than a mid-week meal

  1. How it started/how it’s going post

People love seeing progress. The “How It Started vs. How It’s Going” post or Before/After post is a really versatile format that you can use on any platform. And the best thing is - you probably already have some videos or pictures on your phone or in your content library to make that post. The captions for this can be really simple too! And it doesn’t need to be just success stories - you can also share funny mishaps or challenges, where everything did not go to plan! Ask your followers to leave a like if they can relate.

  2. Re-introduce yourself

If it’s been a while since you introduced yourself to your followers, post a picture of yourself, or a B-roll video with music and some text over it. You don’t need to go deep into your childhood trauma and your dreams, hopes and aspirations - you can just share 3 random facts about yourself and ask your audience to do the same in the comments.

  3. Top 3 things post

This offers endless opportunities to share past success, future projects, pearls of wisdom, funny anecdotes, goals, likes and dislikes. For example, you could post a carousel of top 3 projects you enjoyed working on, top 3 favourite traits of clients (on time, knows what they want, leaves a tip etc.), favourite tools you use, worst things about your job etc. Invite people seeing your post to share theirs.

  4. Quote

Ideal for a lazy day or a 5 minute post - try to find a quote that hasn’t been posted too many times by others and put it on a nice template. It might sound cheesy or basic, but your viewers connect with you over values you have, so this may be an easy way to show what you stand for. And it doesn’t have to be boring! You can also put your twist on the quote, such as “when life gives you lemons, put them in a gin & tonic” if you run a bar or a cocktail lounge.

  5. Client review

Take a snapshot of a nice review and make sure you hide the personal details of the client unless they already shared it on a public domain such as Google reviews. Put it on a nice background and bask in the glory of your customer’s words about you while you sip tea and take a well deserved break!

Bonus Tip: Start Your Content Vault Today!

To be better prepared for days when you can’t, start a content vault to keep ideas, semi baked or ready-to-go posts, videos, pictures and more! If you come across and interesting article or post that you would like to react to or share in the future - put it in the vault. Make sure it’s evergreen content, that won’t go stale over time, so it’s not the best idea for current events and breaking news.

Type things out, save images, links, ideas, make sure you organise them. You can do this on a Word document, in an unpublished blog post, on the notes on your phone, or use one of the platforms like Notion, that will help you organise your content ideas - often for free!

You can even copy the ideas from this post and put them in your vault as your first note!

Happy content creation!

You’ve got this!
